Ordering your units

A growing number of our customers have requested that we start a bespoke painting service. Knowing that most gamers have a growing pile of unpainted lead hidden away somewhere we decided it was a public duty to do so.

This service is now available, and our early customers have been delighted with our service, both in the quality of our artist's painting skills, but also in our rapid servicing of the orders.

Our aim is to ensure that your figures receive the best possible paint job and arrive with you safely in as short a period as possible. All completed orders are despatched by contracted carrier, (European orders are initially sent to Big Battalions in the UK, then forwarded to you by recorded delivery). All orders are insured, and if damaged or lost in transit will be eligible to full compensation.

The step by step list below will hopefully make the process of filling your order simple: -

1. Check our prices here. The range of prices reflects the amount of work and time that will be put into producing the highest quality results in your order. For example a Union infantryman will take less time to complete than an Old Guard Grenadier. Also different makes of model require additional preparation or finishing work and therefore additional cost. Unlike some painters we will paint any type of figure. 

2. Contact us by phone, mail, or E-mail to discuss the details of your order, agree a price (a discount is offered on orders over $800), to receive estimate of delivery time, and arranging payment of 20% deposit. (European customers may like to order via Big Battalions our UK based sister company). We will also provide advice on preparing your package and the customs declaration.

3. Forward the figures to our workshops (UK and European customers may wish to send their figures Big Battalions who will forward the models as part of their regular shipments saving you money on carriage, though you may have to wait for a full shipment to be prepared), ensuring that you include the following: 

• A completed Order Form showing, Your name, address, telephone number and E-mail address
• Details of the unit, including painted sample figure or uniform details if available
• Ensure that you include details of the basing required.
• If the figure carry excess flash please remove.
• Remember to include any spears, additional weapons etc. These will be painted, but not fitted to the figure as experience has shown that they are vulnerable to breakage in transit.

Alternately we can order the models on your behalf and you may purchase units at our ready painted unit rates. However this can mean a short delay whilst the order is shipped to our factory, this time needs to be added to our estimated turn around.

4. Our skilled artists paint the figures! We aim for a maximum turn around time of 12 weeks from receipt at our factory.

5. We forward to you by e mail or post pictures of your figures, if you are happy we will base your models, wrap and pack them.

6. We will then confirm the total cost including carriage. When payment is made the models are despatched. If you do not mind waiting a little longer shipments to the EU can be included in our regular deliveries to BIG Battalions, who will then forward by EU mail, charging a small handling charge and VAT. This is particularly useful for larger orders over 2kg.
