Painting Orders - How It Works

Placing your painting order
Knowing that most gamers usually have a large pile of unpainted lead hidden away somewhere we decided it was our public duty to assist you in reducing that pile and turning it into well painted armies ready for the table.

Our aim is to ensure that your figures are painted to the highest possible standard and arrive with you safely in the shortest time possible. All completed orders are despatched by contracted carrier such as EMS (the national Thai postal system), Fedex, UPS or DHL. All orders are insured, and if damaged or lost in transit will be eligible for full compensation.

The step by step list below will hopefully make the process of completing your order form easy and simple:

  1. Check our price lists here. The range of prices reflects the amount of work and time that will be required to produce the highest quality results with your order. Our painting categories are 'standard, classic and complex'. For example a Union infantryman (standard) will take less time to complete than an Old Guard Grenadier (classic), whereas a highlander or highland infantry will be complex. See our table for examples of what category your figures fit into. We will paint any make or type of figure.
  2. Contact us by telephone, regular mail, or e-mail to discuss the details of your order and receive our price quote. We can give an estimate of delivery time, and also arrange payment of a 20% deposit. (UK and European customers should order via Big Battalions our UK based sister company). We will also provide advice on preparing your package and the customs declaration.
  3. Forward the figures to our workshop ensuring that you include the following:

    • A completed Customer Order Form showing, your name, address, telephone number and E-mail address.
    • Details of the unit, including painted sample figure or uniform details if available.
    • Ensure that you include details of the basing required.
    • Remember to include any spears, additional weapons etc. These will be painted, but not fitted to the figure as experience has shown that they are vulnerable to breakage in transit.

Alternatively, we can order the figures from the manufacturer on your behalf. The figures will be charged at the retail price shown by the supplier at the date of purchase. Allowing us to order the figures makes the whole process that much easier, however, this can mean a short delay whilst the figures are shipped to our workshop. Ordering figures for you will add additional time which needs to be added to our estimated completion time.

  4. Our skilled artists paint the figures! We aim for a maximum completion time of 12 weeks from receipt at our workshop. Our normal completion time is 4-6 weeks from receipt at the workshop.
  5. Once completed we forward to you by e mail, regular mail, or via our KODAK gallery site pictures of your figures for you to view. If you are happy we will base your models and prepare them for shipping. Any alterations or additions can be made at this stage.
  6. We will then confirm the total cost, including shipping/carriage. When payment is made your order is despatched.
